A Cloud of Dust

A cloud of dust, flashing right before my eyes. I was finally there, staring up at the screen in astonishment. Waiting for my time to come. I was there, I was finally there and it was all happening. Finally, this was the moment. The biggest moment of my life. I couldn't believe this was happening. THE audition. The audition of a lifetime. American Idol! I couldn't believe it. I couldn't believe I was really there. Sitting in the room staring at all of the performers. Barbies, they were all barbies. Everyone dressed up like they were a totally different person. I was a different person. I didn't know how to act, all I knew is that was what I wanted. Right then, right there. I wanted to be the next American Idol. Hollywood, that's all I wanted. Barbies, they were everywhere. But who was I? Was I one of those Barbies? Was I fake like the rest of them? Just there to get what you wanted, to put on a show? No, I was there to be me. To live the life I wanted to live and to finally live out my dreams. Living out my dreams and I couldn't believe it was happening. I was finally there. All of my dreams for this audition was finally becoming a reality. I was amazed. I couldn't believe it. And then, it was all over. That day went faster than any other day. It was flashing right before my eyes, just like a cloud of dust.

Rolling the Dice

In class today we wrote a poem and had to start from the very beginning and decrease it to the best we possibly could. Here's a little big of how it was done (starting with the final draft).

Final Draft:
Dice
Rolling the dice on your story
Differences; Changes
Reasoning behind everything
Be you; be true
One outcome

4th draft
Dice
Rolling the dice on your story
Differences
Changes
A reason for everything
Be yourself
Believing
Can’t roll the dice
One outcome
There’s a reason

3rd draft
Dice
Rolling the dice on your story
Differences
What could have happened
A reason for everything
Be yourself
Believing
You cant just roll the dice
One outcome
There’s a reason

2nd draft
A dice
Rolling the dice on your story
Differences
What could have happened
Theres a reason for everything
Believing in yourself
You cant just roll the dice
You can’t choose your outcome
A reason behind everything

1st draft A dice. Roll the dice on your story. What could be different? What could have gone wrong? What could have been better? Or different? There’s so many questions on what “could have” happened. But in my beliefs, I believe that everything happens for a reason. You can’t just “roll the dice” on your life story and choose the best of so many options. One thing and one thing only happens in every situation. And it happens that way for a specific reason.
